Administer your Windows7 PC using Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
Microsoft Management Console (MMC) is an application that hosts tools for administering computers, networks, and other system components. By itself, MMC performs no administrative services. Rather, it acts as the host for one or more modules called snap-ins, which do the useful work. Snap-ins is just a link on MMC to your different administrative tools. Easy navigation to your different computer administrative tools is One of the advantage of using MMC tool locally. Most of the MMC consoles that come with Windows 7 include a console tree, a details pane, and an action pane.
Here at ComputerAnthem we will create mmc and add snap-ins for local PC (your standalone PC). Follow following procedure to do so.
Step I - Go to start > Run > and type mmc and hit OK.

StepII - Click Yes on User Account Control.
Step III - In MMC console, go to file > Add/Remove Snap-in as shown below.

Step IV - If you want a multilevel console tree, click Advanced, select Allow Changing The Parent Snap-In, and then click OK as shown below.

Step V - Highlight the Snap-in you want to add and click on Add as shown below.

Step VI - Select Local Computer to manage the computer on which the console runs, or supply the name of the computer you want to manage. Some snap-ins that allow remote management let you specify the target computer at run time by means of a command-line switch; select the check box to enable this option.

Step VII - Repeat steps V through VI to add more snap-ins. Click OK when you’re finished.
Step VIII - Your MMC console looks like below once you add more snap-in.

Step IX - The final step in the process of creating an MMC console is, of course, to save the file.
Choose File, Save As; enter a file name in the Save As dialog box; and choose a location
(the default location is the Administrative Tools folder in the Start Menu\Programs folder for your profile).Click Save. The resulting console file is saved with the .msc extension.

As the purpose of this tutorial we have saved file on desktop with the name of ComputerAnthem Console. you can anytime go back to the file and open the MMC console.
