Improve Multi-Tasking with Sysinternals Virtual Desktops
Sysinternals Desktops allows you to organize your applications on up to four virtual desktops, you can run 4 different applications on these 4 virtual desktops. Running Sysinternals Desktops is like having 4 monitors with 4 different desktops that you can have different windows or applications open on. For example; you can run your word document on one desktop and outlook on another desktop, you can open your high CPU and RAM consuming application on another one. You can easily switch between the desktops with your mouse or shortcut keys.
Here we will show you how to download, install and use Virtual desktops. Follow following steps in order,
Step I - Download Virtual desktop from sysinternal website, download here
Step II - Save the downloaded file somewhere in your PC, file will be downloaded as a zip file, right click on file and click on extract all as shown below

Step III - Double click on extracted desktop and click on Run as shown below

Step IV - Click on Agree

Step V - Your virtual desktop will be installed and you will see a new icon in the system tray that looks like 4 blocks. If you click on the icon you will see a preview of what you have open on each desktop

Step VI - You can also right click on the systray icon and select Options where you can set the various shortcut keys that can be used to switch between desktops as shown below

Step VII - Here you can specify the hotkey to switch between virtual desktops and also specify other settings.

Note: The recommended way to exit Desktops is to logoff and if you logoff one desktop all of the desktop will be logged off, so make sure you save and close all the application running on different desktop before you logoff.
Runs on:
Client: Windows XP and higher.
Server: Windows Server 2003 and higher.
