What is Bookmark ? How do i add a bookmark in my word document ?
What is it?
A Bookmark is a location within a Word document that is marked for navigational purposes. For example, you might use a bookmark to identify text that you want to revise at a later time. Instead of scrolling through the document to locate the text you can go straight to the bookmark. Once a bookmark is created it can be used to hyperlink to or for cross-referencing when a heading is not available.
How do I do it?
To add a bookmark
Bookmark names must begin with a letter and can contain numbers. You cannot include spaces in bookmark names, however you can use the underscore character to separate words, eg Test_Bookmark_Test. Identify in your document where you want to assign the bookmark and a relevant name to give it, then: Click where you want to insert the bookmark.
I) Select Insert > Bookmark

II) The Bookmark dialog box displays.

III) Type the name in the Bookmark name field.
IV) Select Add.
Bookmark is now created, however nothing appears different on the document.
To view a bookmark
Bookmarks are non printable characters, but can be viewed on the screen as an I-beam as shown below.
I) Select Tools > Options > View tab.
II) Select the Bookmarks check box.

To Use a bookmark
The benefit of creating a Bookmark is to locate that position in the document quickly using the Bookmark name.
I) Select Insert > Bookmark. Bookmarks are listed in the dialog box.
II) Under the Bookmark name select the bookmark you want to go to, eg Test_Bookmark_Test.
III) Select Go to.
IV) Select Close.
