List of inbuilt applications you would like to replace in Windows 7
Windows 7 ships with a host of great features and inbuilt applications. It also carries a lot of inbuilt application inherited from its predecessors
that hasn't been shaped up with it's reputation.These applications have received little or no attention from Microsoft as the years have progressed – and their fate is none improved in Windows 7.
Here at ComputerAnthem we have put together a list of free alternatives for those inbuilt applications.
1. Replace Notepad with Notepad++
Notepad++ is a much more comprehensive, in-depth textpad editor, with built-in tab ability for multiple documents, drag and drop support, color print capability, zooming, auto completion, bookmarking, and even macros.It’s built for code writers and programmers, but used and available to all. If you write text files in HTML, XML, or any other programming language, Notepad++ uses syntax highlighting to identify programmatic objects such as element names and attributes, making your files easier to read. Overall, it’s a great Notepad replacement for Windows.

2. Replace Paint with Paint.Net
Paint on Windows 7 is more improved than one in Windows XP but it still lacks lots of features as compared to paint.net. Paint.NET supports all the basic features you’d want from a photo and graphics editor, such as crop, resize, flip,and rotate. It supports a basic array of tools (paint, pencil,eraser, shapes), and a layering system for building a single image out of several layered photos and drawings. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.

3) Replace Windows Defragmenter with Defraggler
With the rapid change of technology low disk hungry application has become the talk of the past, all new application these days are high disk hungry. Defragmenting your hard drive has become an essential part of keeping your computer running at an optimal speed, and keeping your hard drive in good shape. As far as i remember defragmentation has always been there with most of the Windows O/S but the problem is that it’s never been that good. Defraggler is easy to use and understand. It has an incredibly nice interface and most important, it’s incredibly fast.

4) Replace Windows Sound Recorder with Audacity
The Microsoft Sound Recorder for capturing voice recordings is a bare window application with three basic functions: Start Recording, Stop Recording, and Help. If you want to record audio for a blog podcast, you’ll need something a little more powerful than this. Audacity is a free and open source Audio Editor which allows you to convert ogg to mp3, convert mp3 to ogg, convert vinyls to mp3 or ogg, do any kind of home recording, remove noise, etc. Audacity saves all recordings and sound edits in its native file format. You can export to a range of audio
formats, including WAV and M4A (AAC).

5) Replace Windows Task Manager with Process Explorer
Process Explorer from Sysinternals is a great Windows task manager alternative to get an in-depth look at all of the running processes on your computer,including where individual executables are located, search capabilities for individual DLLs, plus a much more detailed look at system resources, and where they are being allocated.Process Explorer also has a powerful search capability that will quickly show you which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded.
