One of the modern features of latest windows operating system has to be start menu search which is implemented in windows Vista and Windows 7. Unfortunately Windows 7, Start Menu Search can only be used to search for programs and files by default but with a simple change in Group Policy editor, you can use start menu search to trigger Internet searches which will be performed with your default browser and search engine.
Note: The Group Policy Editor is not available in Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium. However, those users can use the Registry Editor instead.
Step I - Go to start menu and type regedit. You'll need to OK a User Account Control Prompt first.

Step II - Navigate in the left tree view to the following location as shown below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

Step III - If you don't see a key (which looks like a folder) named Explorer, you will need to make one. To do so, right-click the Windows key (folder) and choose New, then Key. Name it "Explorer" (no quotes) as shown below

Step IV - Right click the Explorer key (folder) and choose New, then DWORD (32-bit) Value. A "New Value #1" entry will appear in the right side of the Registry Editor and be highlighted so you can edit its name. Rename this to AddSearchInternetLinkInStartMenu.

Step V - Double click on dword which you just created and change value data to 1 as shown below
