Add Search Internet Link to Start Menu
One of the modern features of latest windows operating system has to be start menu search which is implemented in windows Vista and Windows 7 . Unfortunately Windows 7, Start Menu Search can only be used to search for programs and files by default but with a simple change in Group Policy editor, you can use start menu search to trigger Internet searches which will be performed with your default browser and search engine.
Group Policy Editor is one of the administrator tool that can be utilize to set a policies for computers and user which is extensively used in corporate world, this tool also can be used on standalone PC and currently logged-in users as in your home computer.
Note: The Group Policy Editor is not available in Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium. However, those users can use the Registry Editor instead.

Using Group Policy Editor
Step I - Go to your start menu and type group or gpedit.msc. If you just type group you will see Edit group policy as shown below, click on the icon will take you to Group Policy Editor or you can simply type gpedit.msc on the search box and hit enter which will also take you to Group Policy Editor.

Step II - Group Policy Editor looks like as below

Step III: Once you are in Group Policy Editor, Click on User Configuration > Start Menu and Taskbar > double click on Add Search Internet link to start Menu as shown below

Step IV: Click on enabled radion button and click on OK. Close Group Policy Editor.

Now you can see difference when you go back to your search box, you'll see a new Search the Internet link appear just above the search box, complete with the icon for your default web browser. (It appears as you type.) By default, Start Menu searches will still be performed against local files and programs. But if you tap the Search the Internet link, your default browser will open and the search string will be run against your default Internet search engine.

Using Registry Editor
